SPEAKING

Your role is changing faster than the job descriptions you write.

Talks and working sessions for HR and L&D leaders, and the executive teams they work with, on what people leadership becomes when AI redesigns the work. From an advisor running that redesign right now.

28 years in organizational effectiveness. A decade inside a Fortune Global 500, five years as Senior Director of Performance and OE, accountable for 16,000+ managers. CPLP.

Veronica B. Chase, senior leadership advisor.

I'm talking about this from inside the work.

Most AI talks for HR audiences walk through tools. Mine start from the work itself: the review cycle, the development plan, the job description, and who decides what.

For a decade I ran performance and organizational effectiveness at a Fortune Global 500 services company. In the Senior Director seat I was accountable for performance management across 16,000+ managers and a $12M+ annual budget.

Right now I'm redesigning three processes with AI in the loop: the annual performance review, development planning, and the strategic planning cycle. What I bring to a room comes from that work, this year.

Redesign the work, not the tools.

Talks

Every talk is tailored to the audience in the room. These are the four I'm asked about most.

For HR and L&D audiences

What HR and L&D Leadership Becomes When AI Redesigns the Work

Your role is changing faster than the job descriptions you write.

AI got into people work before anyone redesigned the work. Managers are drafting reviews with it. Recruiters are screening with it. IT owns the tools and HR inherits what happens next. This talk is about the seat HR and L&D leaders can take now: alongside IT, organized around how the work actually gets done.

Your audience leaves with:

  • A clear read on where AI is already inside your people processes
  • The decisions that have to stay human, and why
  • A first move you can make in your own organization this quarter

Best for: HR and L&D conferences, CHRO and CLO forums, association chapter meetings.

The Wrong Processes, Faster

Most organizations are using AI to make the wrong processes faster.

Speed up a performance review that never worked and you get bad reviews sooner. Using the annual review as the worked example, I break down how to decide what a process is for before deciding what AI does inside it.

Your audience leaves with:

  • A filter for which processes are worth redesigning first
  • A worked example of a performance review redesigned with AI in the loop
  • The handoffs between AI and people, mapped

Best for: HR, L&D and operations audiences, and leadership offsites.

Managers Are Already Using AI on People. Nobody Designed How.

One manager, one prompt, one review at a time.

Ask managers how they wrote this year's reviews and some will tell you they pasted a paragraph into a personal AI account. Nobody gave them a better way. This talk covers what managers need to lead inside redesigned work: what good performance looks like now, what they still own, and where their judgment can't be handed off.

Your audience leaves with:

  • What manager capability looks like once AI is in the process
  • Where manager judgment can't be delegated
  • How to set expectations before everyday usage sets them for you

Best for: HR and L&D audiences and leadership teams.

For executive audiences

Redesign the Work. Not the Tools.

For CEOs, COOs, Heads of IT and the senior teams around them.

Plenty of mid-market companies have an AI strategy. Far fewer have a workforce redesigned to carry it. This talk is about the gap between the two: the roles, evaluation and capability that decide whether an AI rollout lands or stalls.

Your audience leaves with:

  • Why AI strategies stall at the people layer
  • Where IT and HR leadership have to meet
  • What to redesign before the next rollout

Best for: executive forums, CEO peer groups, senior team offsites.
